UV decals are a popular way to add a unique touch to your belongings, whether it's your laptop, phone, or water bottle. But how do you apply them correctly to ensure they last? Follow these expert instructions for a flawless application.
Prepare the Surface
Before applying the UV decal, make sure the surface is clean and dry. Use a mild soap and water to remove any dirt, oil, or residue that could prevent the decal from adhering properly. Allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.
Peel Off the Backing
Carefully peel off the backing of the UV decal, taking care not to touch the adhesive side with your fingers. Hold the decal by the edges to avoid leaving any fingerprints or oils on the sticky side.
Position the Decal
Once the backing is removed, carefully position the UV decal on the desired surface. Use a ruler or measuring tape to ensure it is centered and straight. Once you are satisfied with the placement, gently press down on the decal starting from the center and working your way outwards to remove any air bubbles.
Apply Pressure
After the decal is in place, use a credit card or squeegee to apply firm pressure to the entire surface of the decal. This will help the adhesive bond securely to the surface and prevent any peeling or lifting over time.
Remove Clear Top layer
Once all the bubbles or creases are removed you can peel off the top layer on a 45 deg angle leaving only the UV cured ink on the object - be carefull arount small parts of the decal - if a part of the decal lifts when removing the top layer you can press it back down and use your nail or a card to ensure it sticks.
By following these instructions, you can ensure a smooth and successful application of UV decals that will enhance the look of your belongings and last for a long time. Get creative and have fun personalizing your items with UV decals!
